At Thrive, we believe that parenting programs are vital for fostering strong, healthy families and creating positive outcomes for children and their parents/carers. These programs empower parents/carers with the tools and knowledge they need to navigate the challenges of raising children in today’s complex world.
Thrive Services workers are trained facilitators and provide the following parenting programs free to parents and caregivers living in the Blue Mountains and Lithgow communities:
The Black Box Parenting Program is an innovative program developed specifically for the challenges after trauma. The program is a great, non–blaming way to get parents thinking about how they interact with their children and how to manage some of the challenges of parenting after experiencing family violence.
The focus of the group is about understanding how past experiences might affect how you get along as a family today. Participants will learn about their relational patterns and develop skills in emotion coaching and limit setting.
